2 servings

A few days ago I meandered my way into the famous Quickystop on campus. You know, the store filled to the brim with sugar and caffeine to keep students going throughout the stressful student life; maybe you missed it when you walked in the entry way to the student center. Actually, you can't miss it - that's the thing. It seems as though it always catches my eye. I usually can resist it. I feel like my sweet tooth is getting smaller as the years go by (not that I'm all old and wise). But some days I just need to satisfy my sugar craving.
I entered, making sure no one noticed. (I kinda felt like James Bond.....ok not really.)
I went to the back of the store where they keep the M&M's.
I looked at the options.
I already knew what I was going to get.
Peanut Butter.
Mmmm, it had been too long since I had the sweet chocolate and peanut butter melt in my mouth not in my hand.
Just as I reached for the package that my heart and tastebuds so desired it happened.
Oh what is that, a Sharing Pack? Two servings of this delicioso delight?
Some people might purchase this said "Sharing Pack" to share with their friends or better yet share with strangers to make friends.
Not me.
I am here to tell you, or rather confess, that I bought a Peanut Butter M&M "Sharing Pack" not intending to share it with anyone!
That's right. I ate the whole sharing pack to myself and I enjoyed every bite.

UNEXPECTED PRINTS

I sit at the computer.
I swipe the cards of students that enter into the lab.
"Hello, how are you today?"
I hand print outs to the customers,
"You have $3.28 left on your account."
I fix the paper jam, teach people how to print and sit...waiting.
Every so often I am entertained by something.
A print comes out of the P4515x HP laserjet:
"Jason C. West
THEA 4250
Monologue #1
Title: I WANT TO BE HOT"
My day is complete.

airboarding

Today is one of those days where I wish I would have clipped my fingernails this morning before I left the house.
.shucks.

Anywho....

I recently had the opportunity to experience something phenomenal.
It’s called airboarding. Yeah I didn’t know there was such a thing either, until last Saturday.
Here is what an actual airboard looks like:

The story goes as follows. My friend took me snowshoeing up a mountain side in Logan Canyon. The scenery was gorgeous as the sun set gently on the tops of the ridges. The trees were versatile in their species and their winter dress was as soft as a feather. Once we reached the top we enjoyed the fun activity of Tim Tam slamming, a favorite Aussie tradition. The sugar spread throughout my freezing system and disintegrated any fear that might have been left lingering in me; it disintegrated any heat I had left as well. The so-expected fear of airboarding down an unknown slope head first in the dark, not even knowing what an airboard was, hardly had a life in my mind. I felt in control, safe, secure, protected. My friend pumped up the airboards as I tried to get my fingers back to a normal temperature. We busted a move and bah-dah-bing we were soaring down the mountain. We even had headlamps to see which added a measure of legitimacy to the whole adventure.

The whole experience was radical and definitely something that everyone should experience. Pretty much tobogganing with an inflated sled, skeleton style (head first).

Prepare your stability, aim, equanimity and your penguin scoot for the adventure of a lifetime!

i'm on holiday

Wowzah, it's been a little while since I have updated my life on this website. My apologies. I feel as though I apologize too much for that - I need to get my act together.

The holiday season was very fun. It felt nice being home for the holidays and spending time with family. That was the highlight of it all, being all together as family to celebrate life, love and joy - all possible because of Jesus Christ, whose birth we celebrate during the Christmas season.

Christmas week started out by baby-sitting for a friend, Ilda. She has three adorable children, they slept the whole time, so I made Christmas cookies for them :O)
I ran to a couple of stores to play Santy Clause getting gifts and what not, then I made the drive home through the seven layers of the candy-cane forest. Once I drove up the old farm road and landed in the driveway I helped my parents prepare the home for the holidays; although, it was pretty well decorated and had the scent of cinnamon, sugar plums and Christmas trees!
I picked up my brother, sister-in-law and nephew from the airport early the next morning. Merrill gave me a huge hug; I don't know if he remembered me or just thought, "maybe if I give this girl a hug she'll get us outta this no-fun airport." Nonetheless, I enjoyed the embrace.
We were all able to have lunch at the Junction in downtown Ogden, minus mom cause she was a bit under the weather.
"the littles" were able to finally meet face to face! They were so cute together.
Over the break we chilled at the house, made fun gingerbread houses (Lauralee and I schooled everyone else! Pictures are on their way.), ate yummy food, watched movies and mormon messages (that was way fun! ;O), talked about everything and then some. It was a grand time! I think Santa brought what everyone had asked for. The grandkids of course were smothered in fun toys. I think the highlight gifts for them were the quiet books that mum made them. They were hecka tight and totally outta this world. When Mum gets with her sister, watch out creativity - there's a world wind on it's way!
We had fun family parties for both sides of my family; one on my mum's side and one for my pop's side of the family - great times! Heard some good life advice from my uncles, as well as a lecture and suggestions for relationships and dating - that was entertaining for sure! At least it wasn't just me, my other single cousins were involved in the enthralling conversation as well.
The time came when everyone had to return home from the holiday festivities. My one brother flew back home, the other got ready for his inlaws to visit. We had to say farewell to everyone which was sad - tear. But the time will come again when warm hearts, fun times, and yummy food will be in attendance......very shortly my friend, very shortly.

To bring in the New Year of 2011 (which we are already in the first month and the 20th day, clazy!) I had the opportunity to go up to a friend's cabin in Bear Lake. It was beautiful. We played games, ate tons of junk food, went sledding, and danced. The next morning I had the opportunity to go out for a little morning walk and soak in the beauties all around. I snapped this picture to remember the moment.
I took the opportunity to speak to God and really thank Him for such an amazing year! It has been an eventful one for sure, one for the records. He has taught me so much and blessed me so much in every aspect of my life.
Every person that I have met is because of His goodness and pure love. I have met some outstanding human beings who have helped me in tremendous ways. Not to mention my supportive and loving family who are my best friends.
It's amazing how the Lord works through others. Let us all be instruments in His hands and help those around us - by doing so we will draw closer to Him and each other!
2010 is a year to remember - 2011, you have big shoes to fill!
